David R. Snyder III, 70, of Petrolia, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026.

He was born in Butler on Oct. 23, 1955, son of the late David Jr. and Hazel (Shakeley) Snyder. David graduated from Karns City High School in 1974. He was employed as a laborer at Magnetics and AK Steel.

David enjoyed hunting, woodworking and listening to oldies music. He was known for being hardworking, devoted to his family and very playful and lighthearted with his friends and family.

David was the beloved husband of Darla (Blystone) Snyder, whom he married Nov. 18, 1978; father of Kayla (Tyler) Martin; brother of Doreen (Richard Ishman) Blystone, Margaret Rodgers and Sondra Andre; and grandfather of Palmer and Aspyn Martin.

He is also survived by Samantha Hays and Jocelyn Bailey, who started as friends and became like daughters; his friend of 50 years, Cheryl Hays; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his two brothers, William (Alice) and Bernard (Eileene) Snyder; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Blystone and Harold Andre; and two close friends, Darrell Hays and Joe Bordonaro.

SNYDER — All services for David R. Snyder III, who died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
