Leonard M. Ciaravella, 75, of Mars, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2026, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless Hospital.

Born in Queens, N.Y. on July 14, 1951, he was the son of Eleanor Falcone Ciavarella and the late Marco Ciavarella.

Leonard was a service manager at JFK Airport in New York.

He was an avid sports fan — especially of watching his grandson's hockey games. He loved the racetrack and betting on the horses with his friend, Jeff. He also loved to play golf and poker.

He was extremely proud of his granddaughter, who is a competitive dancer and competes in pageants.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Vindigni Ciavarella, whom he married May 19, 1973. He was the father of Kate Nicole Pompa (Mark), of Franklin Park; grandfather of Drew and Lexi Pompa; and son of Eleanor Ciavarella, of Elmont, Long Island, N.Y. Also surviving are a sister, Lenore Ciavarella, of Elmont, N.Y.; and a brother, Mark Ciavarella (Virginia), of Valley Stream, N.Y.

CIARAVELLA — Friends of Leonard M. Ciaravella, who died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mars Cemetery.
