City approves slate of events for coming months
Butler City Council approved several upcoming events and associated road closures at its meeting Thursday, Sept. 24.
The city will hold Butler YMCA’s Turkey Trot 5K from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7. North Washington Street, West Penn Street, Miller Avenue and the intersection of Washington and Penn streets will close during the race.
Butler Radio’s annual Spirit of Christmas Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 28 and last about two and a half hours. Main Street from Penn to Wayne streets as well as intersecting streets from McKean to Washington streets will close.
Butler AM Rotary Club’s Carved in Ice event will return Feb. 19 and 20, 2027. East Diamond Street from Main Street to McKean Street will close from 9 a.m. Feb. 19 until 5 p.m. Feb. 20. Main Street from Wayne to Cunningham streets and Diamond Street from Washington to McKean streets will close from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 20.
