Slippery Rock Borough Police Department warned the public about fraudulent charges appearing on bank statements that impersonate the department.

According to a social media post made Thursday, Sept. 24, the department is aware of charges from “Slippery Rock Borough chief of police” that feature the borough’s seal.

The department said it will never charge a bank account. It asked the public to check their bank statements and file any reports with their local police agency.
