Fumo's office says he's showing improvement
PHILADELPHIA — State Sen. Vincent Fumo's doctor says signs are favorable for recovery from the heart attack he suffered Sunday.
A statement released Wednesday by the Philadelphia Democrat's office says Dr. Daniel McCormick thinks Fumo will remain in Hahnemann Hospital for the rest of the week. He found Fumo's heart indicators to be stable.
Fumo is currently awaiting trial on federal corruption charges. Three Democrats have filed to run against him in the primary. If Fumo wins, he will still have to beat a Republican in November.
