Beef management series slated in Feb.
A series of meetings for area beef producers will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays next month: Feb. 8, 15 and 22.
The NW Beef Management Workshop Series will be held at the Wesley Grange, about one mile north of Interstate 80.
Each session will begin at 7 p.m.
• The first session will focus on “Cows That Make a Living for You” and will feature Dr. Keith Burgett and Bryan Burgett of Burgett Angus.
• “Green … Grass and Money Making, the Right Connection” will be the focus of the second session conducted by Cheryl Fairbairn, Penn State Extension educator and co-owner of Lisnageer Farm.
• The series will conclude with a discussion on “Alternatives for Extending the Grazing Season” with Jeff McCutcheon of Ohio State Extension.
Registration deadline for the workshop is Feb. 6. The registration fee is $10 per person for each session and includes materials and refreshments.
