Hampton board approves new teachers contract

ALLISON PARK — Hampton Township teachers have a new contract.

The school board has unanimously approved a new, five-year deal, which the teachers approved last week.

The average salary will increase by more than 4 percent. The maximum salary for teachers with 17 years' experience and a master's degree will increase from $84,310 to $92,285.

Teachers also will begin contributing toward their health insurance. In 2008-09, teachers will pay $10 for individuals and $30 for families every month, increasing to $20 for individuals and $50 for families in the final year.

The contract runs from July 2007 through June 2012.
