GREENSBURG, Westmoreland County — A transgender woman previously convicted of causing her husband's death by castrating him in their Marion Township home was charged Monday with threatening to shoot a Westmoreland County judge.

The affidavit states Tammy Felbaum, 59, who now lives in Seward, went to the courthouse for a civil court hearing before Judge Chris Scherer when she claimed to have weapons in her purse while going through a metal detector around 10:50 a.m.

According to the affidavit, Felbaum said she had guns, an Uzi and a rocket launcher with the intent to shoot a judge.

Felbaum is charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. She is jailed in Westmoreland County Prison.

Felbaum was born a man.

She was convicted in 2001 in the death of her 40-year-old husband, James Felbaum.
