WEST VIEW — A newlywed couple charged with brawling with guests of another wedding staying at their hotel are going to trial.

A district judge in West View on Wednesday ordered David and Christa Wielechowski to stand trial on multiple charges involving the fight that ensued at a hotel after their April 27 wedding.

Police allege David Wielechowski kicked his wife, then the couple fought members of another wedding party who tried to help her.

The Wielechowskis have said they were joking but had to defend themselves when attacked.

No trial date has been set.
