Board summons casino developer
PITTSBURGH — The developer of the Pittsburgh slots casino has been summoned before the state Gaming Control Board.
The board wants Don Barden to answer questions today about securing financing for his casino.
Barden's spokesman Bob Oltmanns says the Detroit businessman was in Harrisburg on Monday seeking more time to present details of his $780 million financing plan.
A Pittsburgh newspaper is reporting that Oltmanns says Barden needs more time to close on the financing.
The gaming board postponed one public hearing on the financing last month at Barden's request. Barden said last month he had secured the final piece of financing.
