BEDFORD — A new trial is to begin for a man accused in the murder and kidnapping of a Bedford County woman in April 2000.

Forty-nine-year-old Joseph Clark was tried in January in the death of 25-year-old Holly Notestine, but a Butler County jury was unable to reach a verdict. A Dauphin County jury is expected to begin hearing case Tuesday.

Loggers found Notestine's remains nearly four years later a few miles from her home. Clark was charged several months after that.

Clark, who has been jailed for several years, wants to be released to search for alibi statements at the home he shared with his mother. A judge hasn't ruled on the request.

Juries were selected outside Bedford County because of publicity.
