Beaver Falls couple shot to death in home
BEAVER FALLS — A husband and wife were found shot to death in their Beaver County home on Tuesday, victims of an apparent double murder, police said.
A relative found Richard Warren Harper and Demetria Harper, both 32, dead in their home, Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles Jones said.
The Harpers were each shot once, Jones said. Police have questioned two of the couple's young children, he said, but he declined to say what they told police. Jones said the Harpers were not chosen randomly and that there were signs of a forced entry. The home is in a downtown residential area.
"They were in the house," Jones said.
Neighbors and friends said a third son had slept at a friend's house.
The Harpers likely were killed late Monday or early Tuesday, Jones said.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the slayings. Jones said there are no suspects but police are looking for two men wearing masks and gloves, Jones said.
Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said autopsies would be conducted Wednesday. She said evidence pointed to a double homicide.
