Sip & Stroll brew fest slated for Adams Twp.
As the summer rolls on, Adams Township residents and visitors over 21 will have more ways to spend their evenings.
That's because Friends of Adams Township Community Park Inc. will host a “Sip & Stroll in the Park” fundraiser on Aug. 21.
Proceeds from the event, scheduled for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Adams Township Community Park at 698 Valencia Road, will go to benefit Adams Township Community Park's upcoming splash pad project, scheduled to begin in 2022.
Seven Fields restaurant, The G.O.A.T. Sports Bar, is sponsoring the event. It will feature 19 vendors, including local vendors such as Mars Farmhouse Café and brewers such as Stick City Brewing.
It will also feature distilleries and wineries from across Pennsylvania, including VentiSei Winery, Boyd & Blair Distillery, Bear Creek Winery, Chicken Hill Distillery and Red Pump Spirits. Dancing Queen will provide music and entertainment.
Advance tickets are being sold on Eventbrite for $35, with a group-of-10 tickets selling for $30 each. On the event date, tickets at the gate will be $40.
Attendees will get access to free samples from vendors as well as the chance to purchase food and to-go six-packs, growlers and bottles.
Parks & Recreation Director Haley Geyer said that Friends of Adams Township Community Park has been working on ideas for fundraising since the group was founded as a 501(c)(3) in 2020 to beautify, expand and promote the current park and recreational facilities.“We wanted to find a way to bring in money to go toward park projects, and we just did a park master plan,” she said. “With all those amenities coming in, we wanted to find a source of funding to put toward that. COVID kind of delayed everything.”Geyer said that the plan was originally to hold a brew fest, but the event expanded to include wineries, distilleries and restaurants. She is anticipating about 500 ticketholders at the event, and hopes to continue the festival annually if this year's iteration goes well.“We figured it would be a good fundraiser opportunity, and especially after the year everyone's had, we're looking forward to just planning an event for the residents and also visitors in the area,” Geyer said. “Most of our events are all ages, and for this to be 21 and over is going to be something different. We're trying to make it really nice, and we want to bring it back and keep making it bigger and better each year.”
