Former reporter tried in gun case
PITTSBURGH — A former Pittsburgh radio reporter was held for trial on charges that he brought a loaded handgun in his briefcase into a courthouse to cover a trial.
Former KDKA reporter Rob Milford is charged with possession of a firearm in a court facility and carrying a firearm without a license.
At his preliminary hearing Wednesday, his attorney, Wendy Williams, argued the charges should be dropped because Milford didn't know the gun was in the briefcase.
Milford, who resigned, said the gun belongs to his girlfriend.
Milford worked at the station since 2006.
