Quecreek Mine center ready to build
SOMERSET — Officials will mark the sixth anniversary of the Quecreek Mine disaster in Western Pennsylvania by breaking ground on a visitor's center Saturday to commemorate the rescue of nine trapped miners in 2002.
The visitor's center preserves the story of the near tragedy and also will include an overlook where people can view the site where the miners were rescued.
