BRADFORD — Students at a University of Pittsburgh satellite campus in northwestern Pennsylvania will have unusual digs this year after the school ran out of dorms.

Campus president Livingston Alexander says about 20 students will spend the fall semester at a Best Western in Bradford. He says it is the second year the school has accommodated students at the motel.

The Bradford campus recently opened a new 144-bed residence hall, but housing demands are still too high.

Alexander says the students living in the Best Western will be moved to on-campus apartments in the spring semester once some others graduate.

In the meantime, the university has moved its own furniture into the hotel rooms, and hired six drivers to shuttle students to and from campus.
