Centre City Parking Garage is one of the garages that could be impacted by the considered parking permit fee increase.

Butler City Council is once again considering raising parking permit fees by $5 per month.

At a budget review meeting Monday, Councilman Michael Walter, the director of accounts and finance, recommended the increase to help pay for repairs and upgrades at parking garages and lots.

The increase, which would not impact parking meter rates, would generate an additional $40,000 in revenue for the parking fund, said James Chiprean, parking manager.
