NEW CASTLE — A Beaver Falls woman is accused of abandoning her 4-month-old baby on a porch, saying she no longer wanted him.

Police in Lawrence County charged 21-year-old Lelanie Gurley with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct on Monday.

Vern Fitzpatrick found the baby on his Union Township porch Thursday after a woman called him and said the baby was on his porch.

Police used caller ID to locate Gurley.

The baby is in custody of Lawrence County's Children and Youth Services. Gurley is being held in the county jail on $30,000 bail. It's not clear if she has an attorney.
