PITTSBURGH — A Cranberry Township man, who is a youth soccer coach, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on possession of child pornography.

The one-count indictment, according to information released Wednesday by the office of U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan, named James Caye, 63, as the sole defendant.

According to the indictment, during September Caye had photographs and videos in computer graphic files, the production of which involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Caye entered a not guilty plea before a federal magistrate Dec. 10. He is free after posting $50,000 bail. The judge also ordered him on home detention with electronic monitoring.

He also is barred from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, and may only use a monitored computer.

Caye has been a longtime soccer coach in Cranberry. He has coached teams of girls ranging from 8 to 12 years old.

Butler attorney Al Lindsay Jr., who is representing Caye, Wednesday had no comment on the case.

If convicted, Caye faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service did the investigation leading to the indictment in this case, according to Buchanan's office.
