Slippery Rock Twp. creates wind, solar device regulations

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Slippery Rock Township now has regulations regarding devices that harness solar and wind power.

Township solicitor Mike Hnath said residents had asked for guidance with installing this equipment, because the township didn’t have any provisions up to this point.

Township supervisors approved the addition to the zoning ordinance chapter at Monday’s meeting.

According to Hnath, if regulations aren’t established, people could place the equipment anywhere.

The supervisors also passed a zoning ordinance update revising the definition of junkyards and the regulations that apply to junkyards within the township.
