UNIONTOWN — Police charged a woman with trying to kill a man who arrived at an emergency room with a steak knife sticking out of his arm. That man, 33-year-old Charles Tomovcik of South Union Township, told state police his live-in girlfriend stabbed him late Sunday.

She's in the Fayette County Jail unable to post $40,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 13. Online court records did not list a defense attorney following her arraignment on attempted homicide and other charges.
