LOCK HAVEN — A former Missouri state university president has been chosen as interim president of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.

The State System of Higher Education said Wednesday that former Truman State University president Barbara Dixon has been picked to head the Pennsylvania school as of July 1.

Officials say Dixon will lead Lock Haven until a permanent president is chosen. She takes over from Keith Miller, who is leaving for Virginia State University.

Lock Haven is one of Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities, which includes Slippery Rock University.
