Authorities say a car being chased by police made an illegal turn onto an Interstate 79 off-ramp and crashed into an oncoming car, killing two people. State police say a marked Robinson Township police cruiser was pursuing a car west on the Steubenville Pike for "numerous traffic offenses." They say the car turned onto the I-79 offramp, traveling south on the northbound Exit 60a, and struck another car at 1 a.m. Sunday.

A 20-year-old female passenger in the fleeing car and a 61-year-old woman riding in the other car were pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were also taken to Allegheny General Hospital, the 64-year-old man driving the car that was struck and the 28-year-old driver of the fleeing car — who police say was wanted by the U.S. Marshal's Service.

Many Western Pennsylvania electric customers were without power as workers tried to clean up damage from a Friday afternoon storm.The storm toppled trees and power lines, cutting electricity to more than 100,000 customers and stranding two people on Johnstown's Inclined Plane for several hours.In Braddock, Mayor John Fetterman said the roofs of four buildings were taken off by a sustained burst of wind. In Westmoreland County, the storm damaged a church roof.
