Federal prosecutors say a Pennsylvania woman claiming she shot an FBI agent in self-defense lied to police about a previous burglary that caused her to fear intruders.

In documents filed Wednesday, prosecutors say Christina Korbe and her husband submitted an insurance claim in August 2008 for a burglary that never occurred.

Korbe is charged with shooting FBI agent Samuel Hicks at her home in Glenshaw as agents tried to arrest her husband, Robert Korbe, in November 2008.

Prosecutors say Christina Korbe cited a bogus burglary in statements to police. They say it was actually part of an insurance fraud scheme.

Korbe remains jailed while awaiting trial. A pretrial motion hearing is scheduled for May 4.

Pittsburgh Roman Catholic Bishop David Zubik was scheduled for back surgery and his staff will be covering his duties for about two weeks.The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh announced the surgery in a news release Thursday. The release says Bishop Zubik was originally scheduled to have the surgery later this spring, but it was moved up to Thursday morning at UPMC Mercy Hospital on the advice of his doctors.The diocese says the bishop has a herniated disc and that other attempts to fix the problem have failed.Zubik has been bishop of the Pittsburgh diocese since September 2007.He had surgery to remove a kidney stone and was released from the hospital April 3, the day before Easter.

An 11-year-old boy remains hospitalized following a shooting in Pittsburgh and three men, including the boy's father, are facing charges.Pittsburgh police say the boy was shot in the leg Wednesday by a man exchanging fire with his father over the sale of a beer and a single cigarette.Investigators say the boy was in a side yard when he shot by 46-year-old Andre Howard as he quarreled with the boy's father, 62-year-old William Boulware. They say Boulware shot Howard, who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the back.Police say the man who drove Howard to a hospital, 56-year-old Cal Chambers is also charged. He's hospitalized with chest pains.Boulware was arraigned Thursday and held on $50,000 bail.

The University of Pittsburgh says an Ohio high school committed a foul on the football field — where the school has a panther logo that Pitt says is too similar to its own.The university earlier this month ordered Whitmer High School in Toledo to stop using its panther emblem.Washington Local Schools Superintendent Patrick Hickey doesn't argue that the logo looks pretty much the same as the one Pitt owns and says the district plans to trademark a new panther image.But he's asking the university for a break, saying it would cost "enormous dollars" to remove the current logo from facilities including the Whitmer football field, where the panther is built into the artificial turf.
