LOWBER — Police say a convicted murderer who rescued his baby daughter from their burning home was arrested on other charges while visiting the girl at an Ohio hospital.

State police said Glenn Allen Jeffries, 34, saved the 11-month-old from the April 28 fire in Fayette County, then fled before authorities could arrest him on theft and marijuana charges.

Police said Thursday Jeffries was apprehended at Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati, where his daughter is being treated for severe burns.

Jeffries spent five years in prison after pleading no contest to third-degree murder for helping his father get rid of the body of a man his father killed and dismembered in 1997.
