HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania is getting $1 million from the federal government to help cover costs and damages from a series of major snow storms in February.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said Friday that it was granting the assistance for the storms that hit from Feb. 5 through Feb. 11.

The money will also go to certain private nonprofit organizations.

FEMA says that more funds will be obligated as it continues to process requests for public assistance.

A federal disaster declaration was issued for Pennsylvania on April 16 and includes counties from all across the state.
