Man charged with child endangerment
Alonzo J. Fleischer, 22, no known address, was charged on Wednesday with leaving a 6-month-old child home alone in July at his friend’s Fairview Avenue apartment while he went to a neighbor’s house
Butler police began an investigation based on a referral from ChildLine, the state’s abuse-reporting hot line, indicating that the child had been unsupervised July 13 for a period of time.
The infant’s mother told a detective that she was attending her GED class when she got a text message from Fleischer, according to court documents. He said the child was asleep, and he was going to a neighbor’s house.
The mother returned home about 10 minutes later, documents said, and the defendant was still gone. Her child was still sleeping and unharmed.
Fleischer is charged with child endangerment.
A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
