Slippery Rock Main Street will ring in the Christmas season with Light the Rock and a Christmas market on from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 20.

According to Tom McPherson, executive director of Slippery Rock Development, the event will feature activities such as horse-drawn carriage rides in Memorial Park, Christmas tree and house decorating contests, and a market with various craft and food vendors.

“We'll have Santa light the Christmas tree, then he'll sit in his tent and kids can come in and sit on his knee, or they can drop off letters to him,” McPherson said.

Mayor Jondavid R. Longo of Slippery Rock said this is a continuation of the annual Light the Rock event that was suspended during COVID-19 restrictions.
