PITTSBURGH — Police say a young couple planned to kill the woman's mother because she stood in the way of their plans to marry.

A preliminary hearing on criminal conspiracy to commit homicide and other charges is set for Aug. 11 for 21-year-old Michael Satterwhite, and 18-year-old Thalia Moore.

Police say Satterwhite began living with Moore after her mother moved to Chicago to take a job and left her to finish up at a performing arts school.

Police charged Satterwhite with assaulting Moore's mother's boyfriend when he found Satterwhite at the house in March. Police filed the murder plot charges after Moore allegedly confessed to it.
