PITTSBURGH — A Butler man will spend five years in prison for possessing a huge cache of child pornography.

David J. Wood, 34, was caught in June 2009 with 50,000 images and 200 videos of child pornography, federal prosecutors said.

U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer, in handing down the sentence, ordered Wood placed on 10 years of supervised release once he gets out of prison.

The U.S. Attorney's office praised Butler police and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Department agency for the investigation that led to Wood's guilty plea in April.
