HARRISBURG -- The artist who created a sculpture honoring Pennsylvania's industrial history is upset it's been moved from its spot outside the state's executive mansion.

The "Pennsylvania Worker" sculpture was removed from the courtyard of the Governor's Residence in July. It now stands outside the Labor and Industry Building.

Artist William Duffy said he wants his work returned to the residence, where it was dedicated 18 years ago. Then-Gov. Robert Casey commissioned the statue of a man raising a steel beam so future governors wouldn't forget the workers who built the state.

The Governor's Residence Preservation Committee says the sculpture is better suited to its new location. But Duffy says the committee has wiped out history in the process of trying to preserve it.
