Officials put pride on line with Eagles-Steelers game
PITTSBURGH - Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato invited Philadelphia Mayor John Street to Heinz Field to watch Sunday's Philadelphia Eagles-Pittsburgh Steelers game.
But Onorato's invitation came with a catch: Street must wear a Steelers jersey to work Monday if Pittsburgh beats the unbeaten Eagles. Onorato will wear an Eagles jersey if the Steelers lose.
The Steelers are coming off a win against the previously unbeaten New England last week, breaking the Patriots' NFL-record 21-game winning streak.
"I am excited about watching our Steelers end the Philadelphia Eagles' winning streak here in Pittsburgh," Onorato said.
"Not so fast," Street said. "I seriously doubt it's a bet I'm going to lose since our Eagles are the only undefeated team in the NFL so far this season - and I'm still feeling lucky."
