WILKES-BARRE — The Salvation Army says a generous donor recently dropped a pair of rings into one of its red kettles.

The charity says it received a diamond engagement ring and a wedding band among its donations in Pennsylvania.

The head of the Salvation Army’s chapter in Wilkes-Barre says the rings were rolled up in a dollar bill and donated on Black Friday. Patty Richwine says it one of the stranger donations the charity has received.
