PITTSBURGH — Authorities have charged a Pittsburgh police officer with vehicular homicide and drunk driving in the death of a woman killed when he crashed his motorcycle earlier this year.

Police charged 28-year-old Adam Lewis on Wednesday in the death of a friend who was riding on the back of his motorcycle at the time of the crash.

Investigators say the off-duty officer was drunk when he gave 28-year-old Jessica Lojak a ride. Authorities say Lewis was speeding when he crossed into the opposite lane and hit an SUV.
