PITTSBURGH — A Western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison in the death of a man who was shot outside an after-hours club during a bachelor party to celebrate his upcoming wedding.

Thirty-five-year-old Garret Sainiak of West Mifflin pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree murder, aggravated assault and firearms counts in the April 25 shooting death of James Hoover. Common Pleas

Investigators said Hoover and some friends were at a Glassport club and argued with the defendant, who later approached them with a gun as they were leaving. Hoover was shot during a struggle.

NEW CASTLE — Authorities say an elderly man was found dead after a fire in his home.Fire officials in Lawrence County say crews found the body after responding to the 5 p.m. Monday blaze in the Union Township home.Deputy Coroner Al DeCarbo told the New Castle News that an autopsy on the body of 90-year-old Nicholas Berbenczy would be done today at a Beaver hospital.
