Be careful of what you say about these school houses. How many of your children can name each member of the school, their parents and siblings? There are a lot of us who went to the 2 Room school in Renfrew and learned just as much as bigger schools. In fact, maybe more. Each class would be taken to the back of the room to learn a specific subject. The others would sit in their seats and probably learn without knowing.

There are some of us that are doctors, lawyers, ministers, pilots, teachers, etc that came out of that little 2 room school house. And we are not Fred and Wilma Flintstone.

I met the teacher several years before she passed when we had a reunion and the first time I sat down with her, she pulled out her pictures and could name every one of the children from the 40's right thru the 60's. And she was in her 90's herself.

I am honored to have gone 6 years through the Renfrew School. And I am quite sure there are others out there that feel the same.
