HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Senate has unanimously confirmed four nominations to the cabinet of Gov. Tom Corbett.

The Senate voted 50-0 to approve the nominations of Carol Aichele as secretary of the commonwealth, Ronald Tomalis as secretary of education, Michael Krancer as secretary of environmental protection and Michael Consedine as insurance commissioner.

Aichele has been a Chester County commissioner.

Tomalis served as a senior official in the education department of former Gov. Tom Ridge.

Krancer, who has been acting secretary, previously served as a judge on the state Environmental Hearing Board for a dozen years.

Consedine is a Harrisburg lawyer who previously worked for the insurance department in Ridge’s administration.
