PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh newspaper reports an arbitrator has rejected the disciplinary appeal of a state trooper who accompanied Ben Roethlisberger on the night of an encounter with a woman in a Georgia bar restroom that led to sex assault allegations.

The newspaper reported today the arbitrator’s May 12 report also found the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback provided luxury box seats for unidentified state police officials.

Trooper Ed Joyner was appealing the withdrawal of approval to work for the quarterback that was yanked following allegations Roethlisberger sexually assaulted a college student in Georgia. Roethlisberger was not charged.
