PITTSBURGH — James G. Klingensmith, the photographer who took the famous picture of Bill Mazeroski celebrating his World Series-winning home run for the 1960 Pirates, has died at 100.

Klingensmith was on the press box roof at Forbes Field when he snapped the picture of a jubilant Mazeroski rounding second base, his arms flailing with one holding his batting helmet in the air after the Game 7 homer. A statue honoring Mazeroski is based on it.
