LINCOLN — Police say a Pennsylvania man who escaped from his wrecked car was then fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Allegheny County police say Alshun Moore, 29, was ejected or escaped from his car after it struck a utility pole, overturned and caught fire early Sunday morning in Lincoln.

Investigators on Wednesday determined the McKeesport man made it back to the road before he was struck by a passing motorist who fled the scene.

Authorities say it’s possible the second driver didn’t know he struck Moore, who may have been dragged under the vehicle.

Witnesses told police they saw a red pickup leaving the area around the time of the crash.
