AMBRIDGE — Police say a woman used a babyless stroller like a shopping cart when she tried to steal more than 100 items worth $529 from a drugstore.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 46-year-old Jill Stumpf of Ambridge, who faces a preliminary hearing Thursday.

Police in Ambridge say Stumpf filled her coat as well as some baby clothes in the stroller with stolen items at a Rite-Aid Store on Dec. 21. Police say a can of soup fell out of the sleeve of a jacket stuffed with merchandise as though a baby was inside.

Acting Chief Jimmy Mann says Stumpf identified herself as “Abracadabra” when she was arrested to which he responded, “Well, my name is Hocus Pocus and you’re going to jail.”
