PITTSBURGH — The owner has voluntarily closed a Pittsburgh hip-hop nightclub where a 27-year-old mother of two was gunned down outside following a fist fight in which several people were thrown out.

Pittsburgh police don’t yet know if that fight prompted the shooting about 1:20 a.m. Sunday that killed Shateecha Roach, who worked as an aide for handicapped children at a city school. Police are not identifying three men wounded in the shooting outside the Fever Night Club.

The club has had several names and various owners in five years. A spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. said the owner was given the choice of closing the club or having prosecutors obtain a court order to shut it down as a nuisance.
