SCRANTON — The wife of late Pennsylvania Gov. Robert Casey says the new historical marker honoring his service is in “the place where his heart was.”

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey attended the ceremony honoring his father along with his mother, former Pennsylvania first lady Ellen Casey.

The historical marker erected Monday in Scranton’s Green Ridge neighborhood lauds Casey’s creation of a state children’s health insurance program and notes his ardent opposition to abortion.

The marker is down the street from the late governor’s boyhood home and near where he and his wife raised their own children.
