BELLEFONTE — Twenty Penn State students face trial on charges stemming from the riot that broke out after the ouster of football coach Joe Paterno amid a child sex-abuse scandal involving a former coach.

All but one student waived preliminary hearings Wednesday before a Centre County district judge but that student was also bound over for trial.

Two of the students face felony rioting charges in connection with the overturning of a television news van in the hours after university officials fired Paterno and forced the resignation of school president Graham Spanier.
