HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s state House majority leader Mike Turzai said he’s decided against running for the U.S. House after reportedly telling top Republican Party officials that he planned to do so.

Turzai, of Allegheny County, lives in the 12th District. Its boundaries were redrawn in December and now combines portions of districts currently represented by two Democratic incumbents, Mark Critz and Jason Altmire.

Republican Keith Rothfus, a lawyer, reportedly does plan to run.
