Cynthia, I agree. My husband took a pay cut and I was put on a wage freeze. We both pay for our medical insurance - over $200/month, and my husband's retirement contributions were frozen.

It's time government employees and teachers wake up. If they had to work out in the real world, they would know just how lucky they are.

Oh, and I again agree about overweight people paying more for their benefits. It is not just a heart attack waiting to happen - they are more prone to back and knee problems, diabetes, even cancer. Smoking and being overweight are not birth defects, they are personal choices. They cause considerably more health care costs. Their fees should be considerably more as well.
