PITTSBURGH — A man serving life for a murder during a Western Pennsylvania gas station robbery 3Z\x decades ago has been convicted of homicide in the death of a man injured in the crime.

An Allegheny County jury deliberated all day Tuesday before convicting 54-year-old Donald Unger Jr. of first-degree homicide and conspiracy.

He and William Jackson Jr. were earlier sentenced to life in the October 1976 murder of 46-year-old Pittsburgh gas station attendant Donald Wright and the wounding of Norman Schohn, a customer who was shot three times.

Schohn, left a paraplegic, died in 2010 at the age of 62. Doctors cited natural causes, but the medical examiner’s office blamed an infection stemming from the shooting. A judge ordered both men to face murder charges.
