I'm tired of reading all these ridiculous postings regarding the SBCEA'a contract. Each and every post sickens me because it's obvious that no one has the true facts. The only people who SHOULD be in the know are the negotiators, (both for the teachers' union and for the board), the school district's attorney, and the union's PSEA rep. Negotiating meetings should take place THERE, not on this website. It is very clear that no one's opinion is relevant except THOSE people because it is THOSE people either make offers or hold their ground. It is infuriating to read these posts of arrogant people who think THEIR opionions should dictate what South Butler County School District does and what the teacher accept. I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but I'd like to inform you that teachers pay taxes as well, so the argument that teachers should be slaves to the system makes absolutely no sense at all. Please understand that what you post hurts both sides and helps to maintain rumors and furor. It has been made VERY clear that the South Butler County Education Association is NOT negiating in the public, so their side will NOT be accurately represented in the Butler Eagle. So, before the general public believes every tidbit that the school's solicitor leaks to the press to stir up drama, I suggest that they get the actual facts. If one is truly interested in the happenings, he or she should attend the next school board meeting. It's easy to shoot your mouth off; it takes slightly more effort to actually get the facts...I'm guessing that the average person isn't really willing to go the extra mile to be informed properly. So, please think before you write...people's children, parents, and lively well-being in general are at stake.
