I play hockey at Butler Dek Hockey and am just one of the many people extremely disappointed with how the place is operated. The adult teams dish out a decent amount of money to play and don't get much more than weekly exercise in return. The games rarely start on time, starting later and later as the day wears on. The website is a joke; it's almost never up to date, and when it is the standings are either wrong or over a week behind. No one knows exactly how well they're doing because there isn't even an attempt to keep stats. One of the biggest issues upsetting the adults is the complete lack of professionalism. Apparantly anyone who is connected to the manager is exempt from rules and regulations he himself is "enforcing" throughout the league. And anyone who questions him on it is thrown out of their game.

All it comes down to is money in the pocket. What will it take to get a community operated facility to be organized? It's about time to get someone who cares about the sport itself and the people playing it, not just how much money the league will bring in every season. Maybe someone who can manage a place without a local political connection? This place is going downhill due to mismanagement and favoritism. Thankfully there is now another facility in the area offering dek hockey. My team will be leaving Butler Dek Hockey for the Family Sports Center, at least their operation is run with competency.
