People need to wake up. I am 47 years old - I will be eligible for medicare in a little less than 20 years, but guess what? If nothing changes, there will no Medicare in 20 years. It will be completely bankrupt. I have paid into Medicare all of my life, having worked full time since I was 19, yet when my time comes to retire and get on Medicare, I will get nothing. This single payer plan is something that anyone who plans to ever retire better support. Even if you work right now and have health care, either you better plan on working your whole life, or die before you retire, because Medicare will be gone.

We need this. It is not socialized medicine, you will still be able to get your own health care supplement plan if you want it to cover you.

Right now, Allegheny General Hospital is suing UPMC because UPMC health plan pays UPMC hospitals more than they pay Allegheny General. Their health plan is trying to run other medical centers out of business so they will have the monopoly. Do you think that is fair? Insurance companies don't give a crap about your health. They care about their bottom line and once UPMC has the monopoly, they will make the rules. Where do you think all this opposition is coming from? There is big money in insurance and the insurance companies want to keep the status quo. Don't be stupid enough to fall for their lies. Just think about it for a minute before you say you are against single payer health care.
